Testosterone is the significant male sex hormone that boosts sexual desire in a man. The testosterone levels begin to decline gradually in men when they reach late 40s. Some men may experience low sex drive because of a decline in their testosterone levels. Other most common symptoms of low testosterone include erectile dysfunction, bone thinning, depression, lethargy and physical decline. It has been reported that very few men have testosterone levels that are low enough to cause symptoms. Testosterone replacement therapy is an effective treatment that can be used to raise testosterone levels and increase sex drive.
